This project aims to connect ancient wisdom with contemporary insights by drawing inspiration from our ancestors who gazed at the stars and spun tales from their celestial observations.

Incubation and Support from Niantic
In collaboration with Niantic, Inc. (developer of Pokémon GO) as an incubator that guided and funded the project through their Innovation Lab WebAR x AI 2023.
This initiative provided critical support and resources, enabling and bringing this innovative concept to life and to be later showcased at a major fair in the United States, with Niantic's sponsorship.
Design Challenges
One of the major design challenges was crafting an intuitive experience that transcends the smartphone screen, morphing into an immersive augmented reality.
Ensuring accessibility and ease of use for all tech-savvy levels, we underwent several rounds of internal feedback and presentations with Niantic’s team to refine our user journey and interface.
My Role
In the Soulfi project, my primary focus was on UI/UX design, where I was responsible for crafting a user journey that seamlessly integrated storytelling with AR technology.
I developed high fidelity wireframes to validate the conceptual design, ensuring that the interface would be intuitive and engaging. This groundwork led to the creation of a functional prototype, which served as a critical blueprint for developers.
Feedback and Impact
At its debut, Soulfi received valuable feedback from Niantic’s innovation team, particularly regarding UI element placement for ease of use and color choices for accessibility.
This has led to significant improvements in our platform’s user interface and the AI’s image generation capabilities.
Outcome
Soulfi is not just a project; it’s a testament to the power of combining storytelling with cutting-edge technology.
It invites users to reconnect with their ancestral heritage while exploring innovative narratives created through AI and AR, setting a new benchmark in digital storytelling.
Learnings
The Soulfi project highlighted the importance of user-centric design and interdisciplinary collaboration in creating AI and AR-driven experiences. We learned to balance innovation with accessibility, ensuring the platform was intuitive for all users.
Storytelling evolved as a dynamic tool, personalized through technology to deeply engage and resonate. Continuous learning and iteration based on user feedback and technological advances proved crucial, driving us towards refining our approach and envisioning future possibilities in digital storytelling.
